This Weeks EPL Round Up

Well another week and another round of fascinating games, but before we get onto the Premiership i just wanted to point out that the African Nations cup is now over, and we have found highlights of the african nations cup final, you can watch them over here.

Now onto the premiership, saturday’s game were full of action as tottenham take on derby county, derby really do look like they will be getting relegated it just now seems that they will be trying to gain some pride and try to prepare for next season. Aston Villa took on Newcastle and kevin keegan was still looking for his first win as newcastle manager. West Ham take on birmingham & Middlesbrough took on Fulham who are also battling for their lives.

Onto Sundays action where there was a 1 minute silence to pay respects to those who died at the Munich Air Disaster 50 years ago, this was then marked by a fantastic game of football between Man Utd & Man City…… Then struggling Liverpool took on Chelsea who have not lost at Stamford Bridge in 4 years.

well thats this weeks round up, looking forward to next week when we have the FA Cup, and the week after that the Champions League starts up again

Weekend Highlights : EPL Round-Up

Well the weekend football is almost done and what a great weekend of football it was, with man utd vs tottenham this was expected to be the game of the week and with cristiano ronaldo in top form maybe we would see another piece of genious from him. Newcastle manager Kevin Keegan had his 112th Tyne/Tee Derby and he was looking for his first win (and goal) in his second reign as Newcastle Utd manager.

Liverpool were looking to get back to winning ways against Roy Keanes Sunderland, Chelsea kick off against Portsmouth both teams were looking to show off their new aquisitions, and both scored in this lively encouter which saw Chelsea fall back even further behind Man Utd and Arsenal. Blackburn took on Everton these two teams will be battling it out for a European place and it was a great game (you can watch the highlights here). League “Losers” Derby travelled to Birmingham to see if they could salvage their campaign and grab a point or three against struggling Birmingham.

And finally Arsenal stayed top of the league by seeing off Man City 3-1

Midweek Football Round-up

Well it is now February and the transfer window is closed, hopefully all the teams have bought the players that will help them make a push in the last part of the season, i guess the biggest transfer news was Jarmaine Defoe moving to portsmouth, Benjani was meant to move to Man City but the transfer was not submitted in time… Which leave Portsmouth with unbalanced books but it does bolster their attacking options, i dont think Harry Redknapp will be unhappy at having Defoe & Benjani upfront…..

Anyway onto the midweek games, there was quite a few games and the highlight of them all was the Manchester United game with Cristiano Ronaldo shining once again with a marvelous free kick, the press has been singing his praises all week, and so they should be with 29 goals in 27 games this is almost unheard of for a winger….. you can see the Ronaldo Free Kick here
